Welcome to the LARA Scholarship Application with Chisago Lakes Area Recreation Association!

This registration session will allow you to sign consents and complete contact information. Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

Lakes Area Recreation Association (LARA) will continue to provide registration fee scholarships to help youth participate in sports programs in the Chisago Lakes School District area.  Specifically, this scholarship program provides assistance to youths from low income families or families who have experienced sudden financial hardships.

To be eligible for a LARA sports scholarship, a child must:

• Qualify for free or reduced school lunch or
• Be receiving assistance from one or more of the following programs: General Relief, food stamps, ADC, Foster Care, Medicaid or SSI
• Child’s family must show that they are experiencing a sudden financial hardship

And

• Be schooled-aged;
• Make a commitment to attend a minimum of 80% of scheduled practices and games.

Priority is given to eligible youth meeting one or more of the criteria below:

• Member of a Multi-child family
• Living in  a single parent home
• Recommended by a Department of Family Services social worker or a Chisago Lakes Public Schools social worker

Scholatrship awards are either for the full registration fee (excluding any late fees) or on a partial basis.  Applicants for the full scholarship will be asked to sign a statement that their child would be unable to participate in LARA activites in the absence of full financial aid.
